Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT)
We utilize Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) during all our preventive, therapy, and supportive maintenance appointments. GBT is the most advanced method in removing biofilm and hard deposits. GBT begins by using a diagnostic liquid to color your plaque biofilm and once it is visible we will look at it together.
Our therapy is then guided by seeing the plaque biofilm and gently removing it. GBT is more therapeutic and minimally invasive because it uses a super fine therapeutic powder that is delivered with air and sterile water through a special handpiece. Hard “tartar” deposits are then easily removed with a piezon which is a more comfortable ultrasonic technology. Much less scraping with hand scalers is required and no course polishing paste makes GBT the most gentle, non-abrasive, and safe cleaning procedure there is to offer.
